Golden ball has a better shortlist!

October 22, 2007
After rumors and controversies abounded behind the FIFA world player of the year shortlist of candidates, the Ballon d’Or or the world footballer of the year award has certainly proved its prestige above the other equivalent of the award. Recently announcing 50 players that are nominees to the award and certainly making a great list and a justified one. this certainly shows how the officials behind this award is serious of making this award count and be respected by players, clubs and fans. Making a list which is bigger compared to FIFA not only shows a safe margin of players inclusion but certainly made a great analysis of achievements and individual efforts to be accounted in the players. Making a shortlist of lesser players does not give the excuse of mis assessment, but with the Ballon d’Or shortlist shows quality and consistency with the players included in it. The Ballon d’Or has certainly lived up for the prestige and hype that has been attached to it throughout the years. the inclusion of Roma captain Francesco Totti and Inter magical striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic shows how much they made a clear assessment of skills, achievements and consistency. not including these names would would require a great excuse and certainly has to be justified with better performances from other players, FIFA’s shortlist has failed to do this putting names before Totti and Ibrahimovic that are very questionable and certainly confusing to the fans. The fans are now excited to who will win it this year, favorites are Messi and Kaka…

S*** happens when you dont get enough sleep….

October 17, 2007
Damn it, I’m starting to get superstitious about this, almost every time something bad happens to me is when i don’t get enough sleep at night. Well what can i do? they can’t make me shut up, I would certainly rant it all out when I know its worth it or when I know I don’t deserve it. Well ok its not because of not getting enough sleep but i really feel bad when I don’t get my good nights’ sleep and i feel worse when s*** happens! well i don’t blame my lack of sleep it just makes matters worse when unexpected things happen and make you feel more useless and helpless… what do i do? i resort to talking… and eventually ranting… well enough of that its about time i feel a bit happy and look on the brighter side… s*** life is really unfair….. that’s for the bright side!

FIFA World player of the year is full of S***!

October 11, 2007
I have not been very vocal about my views in this blog, what i wanted was to just have a personal touch in my reporting and conveyance of the happenings and hot news around the world of football. But the news today has really made my head go berserk. It has simply urged me to make this recent post as personal and as vocal as possible, a way in which people can see my sentiments and angst, my strong opinion and to be respected to be someone who will stand out just for his words to be heard.I have read the report about the 30 players who made the cut for the nominations of the FIFA World player of the year. To my dismay, the report was immediately headlined with names that was surprisingly did not make the it. I was still calm and was willing to see the full list to make sure that i was given justification by having a list of 30 players who really deserve to be in it. i was certainly disappointed. here is the list before I make further comments:

Italy: Gianluigi Buffon, Fabio Cannavaro, Gennaro Gattuso, Alessandro Nesta, Andrea Pirlo
Argentina: Lionel Messi, Juan Roman Riquelme, Carlos Tevez—>?
Brazil: Juninho, Kaka, Ronaldinho
Cameroon: Samuel Eto’o —>?
Czech Republic: Petr Cech
England: Steven Gerrard, Wayne Rooney, John Terry
France: Thierry Henry, Franck Ribery, Lilian Thuram, Patrick Vieira
Germany: Miroslav Klose, Philipp Lahm
Ghana: Michael Essien—>?
Holland: Ruud van Nistelrooy
Ivory Coast: Didier Drogba
Mexico: Rafael Marquez
Portugal: Cristiano Ronaldo, Deco
Spain: Fernando Torres

What the F**k is this list? I can spell inconsistency in the ranks! i have highlighted some names that certainly baffles me that these names were included in the list. some names even jump into me and scream that i should not be here! What i mean is there so much names that would certainly be overshadowed by the names of Totti and Ibrahimovic! not in the sense of popularity but of what they have done for their clubs and certainly based on their performance so far. I could even name more footballers that deserve a slot in the list… How about the goal machine Luca Toni? David Villa anyone? How about the young and mercurial Cesc Faregas? My God! how could this list have been assembled? i am really confused and angry with FIFA! how can these sure fire stars be left out, it would have been easier to accept if they had justified it by filling in great players, consistent and not under performing. I even giot to red so much comments from Goal.com that shows how much disgust they have for this list! here’s an example:

“Wandy, Sydney 10/11/2007 1:26 AM i think cannavaro, gattuso, nesta, pirlo, riquelme, tevez, juninho, thuram, lahm, marquez, and deco are not good enough to be in the list!!!”

Here’s another editorial quote from an article in Goal.com by Carlo Garganese:

“The absence of Francesco Totti from the list of nominations is an absolute disgrace. It is an insult and I can say for one that I now could not care less who wins the award because if the Roma captain’s performances did not merit his inclusion in the top 30, then I must be going insane.”

“Either FIFA is full of clueless idiots who have never watched football in their life, or more than likely their list of choices is dictated by politics. “

“It is a disgrace. The FIFA World Player of the Year award is a Mickey Mouse Prize with no value whatsoever.”

It has easily been said that this award is certainly a second grade award compared to the Balon d’Or or the European Footballer of the year! which I could easily say have great prestige! This is really a shame for FIFA and for football! Many have even touted the award as a worthless one!
This list is simply rubbish!

Motivation….

October 3, 2007
Sometimes you come across a point in your life when you are so down, your self confidence and esteem is too low, you feel confused scuffling for answers. I just wanted to share an article I stumbled upon a blog, and was very motivating. I know that people around you might be telling you a lot of things but listen well and most importantly think and decide for yourself. People might give advice but its always up to you make the decision and its entirely up to you to make all your desires and goals into reality. the advise the author gives is not absolute, it just gives you another perspective and gives you more confidence to take control of your life. Here’s the article:

“Everyone thinks they’re the expert on your life and loves to give you advice. Most of it is complete garbage.

Here are 15 of the most popular nay-saying tips and why you can tell them to shove it.

1. Your dream is unrealistic. What’s unrealistic is trying to live your life working at a job you don’t love doing something you hate for the rest of your life while regretting trying to live your dream

2. You’re screwed if it doesn’t work out. No, you’re not. In fact, the worst possible scenario is that you go back to what you would be doing if you hadn’t pursued your dream. That’s the worst possible scenario.

3. You weren’t cut out for that. Who’s to say that? If you don’t fit the stereotype for your dream then you’re the one to break the mold. You will stand out.

4. You can follow your dream someday. Someday will never come. Follow your dream today.

5. Only a few people “make it.” That’s because they lack the drive, determination, and will that you have. You’re one of the few.

6. You should just be safe and get a job. In fact, a job is even more dangerous than pursuing your dream. Not only do you feel terrible doing something you don’t want to do, but with two simple words your livelihood can change. “You’re fired.” When you’re pursuing your dream, you’re the only one that can stop you.

7. That’s impossible. Yes it’s impossible. For them. Not for you though, because you can dream and make it real.

8. You would have to go through so much work to do that. Yeah, but you’re willing to do it. You know what you want and you know what you have to do to get there. To you it’s not work, it’s what you want to do with your life.

9. You don’t need a backup plan. Yes, you do. Even if it’s just for supplemental income, use your talent or perfect your dream by doing something that may not be the exact same, but is related. It’s always better to be good at two things than one.

10. It’s a one in a million chance. No, actually, it’s probably less. But it doesn’t matter to you, because you know you’re going to do it. That’s what really matters.

11. Bad things will happen. Failures are just steps towards success. Any successful entrepreneur will tell you that. If you can’t handle failure, then success is going to be very difficult to achieve.

12. You won’t be able to live off that. If you can do it and find an avenue that will pay you for it, then yes you can live off of your dream. Even people who can fit into a box found an market for their talent that people would pay them to perform.

13. You’re going to be the next “BLANK.” No, you’re not. You’re going to be the next YOU. Don’t follow the mold, be different. Be yourself.

14. That’s a lot of pressure. Of course there is; it’s your life. That doesn’t matter to you though because you’re willing to take it on and make it your own.

15. You have to do this, this, and this, to do that. Wrong. Follow what you believe and find your own way to achieve your dream. Studying those who have succeeded in the same field helps, but copying won’t get you anywhere.

If you can disregard these bits of “advice” people give you, you’re well on your way to succeeding.

Don’t let their jealousy and worry get you down.

Now go own the world.
